Model trains look best when they travel through landscapes that mimic a realistic countryside. To accomplish this look, start with a full sheet of 3/4 inch plywood. Paint the entire plywood board with two coats of white acrylic paint. Let the first coat completely dry before painting the second coat. After the second coat of acrylic paint has dried, paint different shades of grey, green, and brown over the entire surface.

If you are a crafter, chances are excellent that you have run across acrylic paint and having a hard time using it. It might not stick to the surface properly or it might not be able to provide a solid coat no matter how many layers you add. If you've ever experienced this, chances are good that you've been preparing the surface on which you were going to paint incorrectly or not preparing it at all.
